The Challenge:

Getting fans excited about & connected with a heating & cooling sponsor beyond your typical 'enter to win' sweepstakes.

Coming into the regular season the Oklahoma City Dodgers had a challenge. How can we get fans engaged, connected, and excited about connecting with a heating & cooling sponsor?

In lieu of a typical "enter to win' sweepstakes, the team was looking for a more engaging way to connect their fans with the partner in a new and exciting experience.

Replacing the typical "enter to win" sweepstakes with an engaging experience for fans

The OKC Dodgers worked with SQWAD to implement our Mobile Scratchers as a replacement to the typical 'enter to win" sweepstakes to bring more engagement to the promotion.

Through the mobile experience, each fan gets a digital scratch-off ticket that (if they are a winner) will reveal a prize when they swipe with their fingers. Fans were awarded a few different prizes which came from either the team or the sponsor of the activation.

The activation was put in place over five separate nights over the course of the season and was promoted on the team's video board in the stadium.

“Overall, it [Mobile Scratchers] was great for brand awareness. We would promote it in the middle of the game and we’d promote it in between innings. We would have a PA announcement and a live video board broadcast encouraging our fans to participate in scratchers.

Immediately following, we would see direct results from the people that were actually playing in-stadium.”

The Results
1,500 leads generated for the sponsor in just 5 promotional nights

The activation was put in place over five separate nights over the course of the season and generated 1,500 total leads for SunTech. The sponsor’s reaction to the results of the activation has been incredibly positive through the first season. 

In addition to the leads generated, the sponsor was also able to distribute discount offers to drive those leads to sales for the company.
